Questions
The things people actually ask
Ordering, delivery, what the grades mean, and why fresh olive oil tastes the way it does. If your question isn't here, message us.
Ordering & delivery
Is Pakistani olive oil actually as good as imported?
Quality in olive oil comes from three things: the fruit, how fast it is pressed, and how it is stored afterwards. Origin matters only insofar as it affects those.
Balochistan's climate, hot days, cold nights, very little rain, produces fruit with high polyphenol content, and pressing locally means we control the gap between picking and milling. Where imported oil often wins is consistency and certification infrastructure, which Europe has spent decades building. Where it reliably loses is freshness: by the time a bottle clears customs and sits in a warehouse, a good deal of what you are paying for has already degraded.
Do you deliver to my city, and what does it cost?
We deliver nationwide by courier. Islamabad and Rawalpindi are Rs 200 and usually take two to three days. Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta, Faisalabad and Multan are Rs 300; Karachi is Rs 350; both typically three to five days. Everywhere else is Rs 400 and can take up to a week.
Orders over Rs 6,000 ship free. Full detail is on the shipping page.
How does ordering on WhatsApp work?
Add what you want to the cart, fill in your name, number and address at checkout, and press the button. That opens WhatsApp with your order already written out, you just send it.
We reply to confirm stock and delivery time, then dispatch. You pay the courier in cash at the door. Nothing is charged before then, and we never ask for card details.
Can I pay by card or bank transfer?
Not at the moment. Every order is cash on delivery, which means you owe nothing until the bottle is in your hand. If you would prefer to pay in advance by bank transfer, some customers do, for larger or gift orders, message us and we will arrange it.
Can I return it?
If a bottle arrives broken, leaking, or with a broken seal, tell us within 48 hours with a photo and we will replace it or refund you, including the delivery charge.
Because this is food and the seal is a safety matter, we cannot take back an opened bottle simply because you did not enjoy the taste. Message us anyway though, if something tastes wrong we want to know which batch it came from. Full detail on the returns page.
Product & quality
What does "extra virgin" actually mean?
It is a chemical grade, not a marketing word. To qualify, oil must be mechanically extracted without heat or solvents, have free acidity below 0.8%, a peroxide value under 20, and pass a sensory panel with no detectable defects.
Plenty of oil sold worldwide as extra virgin would fail on testing. Ours is tested per batch, and we will send you the report for the batch code printed on your bottle if you ask.
Why is the wild oil more expensive?
Yield. Wild trees are unirrigated and unpruned, scattered across difficult terrain rather than planted in rows. Picking them takes far longer per litre, and a wild tree produces a fraction of what a cultivated one does.
The harvest window is also short, a few weeks, and when a season's pressing is gone, it is gone. The higher polyphenol content is a consequence of the same conditions that make the tree low-yielding: drought stress.
Why does it burn my throat?
That catch at the back of the throat is oleocanthal, a polyphenol. It is a marker of freshness and quality, not spoilage.
Supermarket oils that taste smooth and buttery are often smooth because the polyphenols have already degraded. If our wild oil makes you cough slightly on the first spoonful, it is doing what it should. There is more on this in the journal.
Is it organic? Is it certified?
Our wild oil comes from trees that have never been treated with anything, because nobody farms them. The cultivated groves we buy from use minimal inputs. Neither currently carries formal organic certification, which is an expensive and slow process we have not completed, and we would rather say that plainly than imply otherwise.
What we can give you is batch-level lab testing on acidity, peroxide value, polyphenols and fatty acid profile.
Using & storing
Can I cook with it, and at what temperature?
The extra virgin is fine for everyday cooking, sautéing, roasting, shallow frying up to around 190°C, which is above most home cooking. Its smoke point sits comfortably higher than that.
The wild oil we would ask you not to cook with. Heat breaks down exactly the polyphenols that make it worth the extra money. Use it raw, or add it after the pan comes off the heat.
How long does it keep?
Sealed and stored properly, 18 months from the pressing date printed on the bottle. Once opened, use it within about three months for the best flavour, it stays safe well beyond that, it just gets flatter.
Keep it in a cupboard, not beside the stove, and not in the fridge. Cold makes it cloud up, which is harmless but alarming the first time it happens.
How do I know it isn't cut with cheaper oil?
Adulteration is the real scandal in the global olive oil trade, and scepticism is warranted.
Two answers. We press and bottle in one facility, and every bottle carries a batch code tying it to a specific pressing. And the lab report for that batch is available on request, blending with seed oil shows up immediately in a fatty acid profile, which is exactly why we are happy to hand it over. Ask for it.
Do you supply restaurants or sell wholesale?
Yes. We supply bulk and unlabelled stock to restaurants, retailers and brands putting their own name on it. Minimum order applies and pricing depends on volume and packaging. See the bulk page or message us with your requirements.
Can I use it on skin or hair?
People do, and olive oil has been used that way in this region for a very long time. We sell it as a food product and test it as one, so we are not going to make cosmetic claims about it. If you want to use it on skin, patch test first like you would with anything else.
Still need help?
Message us on WhatsApp with your question or your batch code. We reply Monday to Saturday, 10am to 7pm, in English or Urdu.
Still not sure which oil to buy?
Most people start with the extra virgin and add the wild once they know they like the pepper.
